Grants for Local Businesses within the Dorset Council area will open for applications 1st October and close 17th November.

Please ensure that you are in the Dorset Council taxpayer area before applying and can meet the tight deadlines for project completion.
If you are contacting us for a Business grant code for the Dorset Council Business Grants Round 3, enquiries for a diagnostic and code will close at 3 pm on Friday 15th November 2024.
If you have a code from us, the application is made via the Dorset Council site and must be made by 17th November 2024, please do not leave it until the last moment as the system may crash and you will not be able to apply in time.

Applications do not have to be completed in one visit, there is an option to save and return. However, please note that all questions must be answered and all supporting documents must be submitted, as any incomplete applications will not be accepted.
We are told that a panel meeting to review grant applications will be held every 3 weeks and we are expecting one in the third week of October and 2 more in November.
Dorset Council will inform successful applicants within 2 weeks of the panel meeting.

If you are a business within the Dorset Council area, you can apply for a grant towards:
Businesses can apply for grants towards:
o digital technology and innovation
o research and development
o business growth and exports
Such as:
o purchase of new equipment; software development and implementation; adaptations; automation and robotics
o support with Intellectual Property (IP); patents; trademarks; designs; copyrights; or other options for protecting IP; capital funding for new machinery for new products; and development of new services or products
o grants to facilitate growth, promote innovation and increase productivity
o grants to facilitate and support businesses that are either wish to start exporting or are already doing so
Businesses must provide 100% match funding in cash and are required to undertake a business support meeting with our lead business partner, WSX Enterprise, before completing the Grant Application Form.
